In general, an ITSI module is an add-on for the IT Service Intelligence premium product; a technical add-on (TA) contains configurations useful for getting data into Splunk (transforms, props, etc.); a support add-on (SA) contains helper functions or configuration, but usually is not a visible app; and an App is a visible add-on to Splunk, usually containing dashboards.
