While I browse my local drive in Explorer I would like to add and search some log files with Splunk without opening a command line or going to the Splunk Manager UI. Is there an easy way to do it?

There is an script posted to Splunk Labs website that can help you with this. Unpack the archive, run install.vbs to register the extension in the system and you'll be able to search your log file by selecting Splunk from the context menu.
