All is in the title 🙂
I often have to launch long time running search. Instead of waiting for results on dashboards, I'd like to create searches with the searchmanager js component.

Are there any settings to create a search in background with an email when the search is done?

Have you tried to create scheduled jobs?

Try to use it with "|loadjob" command.

So you can create an run any search and get the results on loadjob instantly.

Try to check this link: http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/7.3.2/SearchReference/Loadjob
