How to convert now() into strptime?

... | eval now = now()
| fieldformat now = strftime(now, "%c")

Assuming you want to convert now() into text, you want strftime.

... | eval nowText = strftime(now(), "%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%S%Z")
