Hi, and welcome to splunk 🙂
You need to set is_visible = 1 in order for your app to appear in both the app list on top and the one in the launcher on the left. You do this in the app.conf located in %SPLUNK_HOME%/etc/apps/(your_appname)/default, under the [ui] stanza (make sure there is no line saying is_visible = 0 in the file located in %SPLUNK_HOME%/etc/apps/(your_appname)/local, otherwise this line would override the setting from the default folder).

Thank you for you advice, but already my app.conf setting says " is_visible=1" and there is no line saying "is_visible=0" in the file located in the path you mentioned. Still i can not see my app on Management app list... Could you figure out what's wrong with my setting?

Does your app have a view yet? Apps without views won't show in those lists. And is it enabled? Can you see it in the list of apps when you click "Manage Apps" in the top app list (or the cog above the list on the left in the launcher)?

My app has view and set enabled. My question was that I can not see it in the top app list. (I can see my app in the list of all apps when i click "Manage Apps" in the top all list) What's wrong? 😞

Anyway, thank you for your reply.

How did you create the app? Did you use any template, or did you create it from scratch?

Maybe it would be a good idea for you to create another app from a template, that way you can see what files need to be where in order to see any actual views.

Have a look here for the folder structure of an app. I could imagine your app is lacking proper navigation (i.e. a default.xml with the right path to your view in data/ui/nav).
