Collecting iPad activity data

Has anyone Splunk'ed data from a iPad?
Specifically, user activity data if it exists in the logs or cache?

I think someone should write a Splunk forwarder app for iTunes that will collect user activity. The use case is that my kids will be getting iPads for school and, frankly, I'd like to know what they've been doing on it.

With Apple's walled garden approach to security, it is not possible to get this log data, since it is not exposed by their API's.

I'm sure that gathering this database would be extremely beneficial to a lot of people and organizations, but the data is simply not available.

Thanks,
