Splunk Features Problems

I have just installed Splunk and doing a training course and trying to follow along and I realize I am having issues with the functionality of some of the features and search logs of if I installed the incorrect version. Can we have a chat?

I haved installed the enterprise version of splunk as a free trial and some of the output's are not loading. It says still searching for input in some of the fields within Splunk.
