Latest Splunk version on splunk.com?

Is there a URL on splunk.com that I could poll periodically that just reports the latest available version of splunk as listed on the downloads page?

I can get it by reading this URL

https://quickdraw.splunk.com/js/pro/4.3.2/login

And then incrementing the version number as I go along, but I was wondering if there were something more like http://automation.whatismyip.com/n09230945.asp where it just spits out a number

There's an RSS feed which is updated when there a new version is available.

Is there a non-RSS feed that provides this information, such as a news or blog page? Or can I receive update notifications via email?

The RSS can essentially be seen as a page that tells you the latest version. Just search for the first <content> tag and then match what comes immediately after the following <title> tag.
