How to authenticate an app using the Splunk Java SDK without a username and password?

Hey,

I have created an app that uses the Splunk Java SDK (Java) to connect and post data to Splunk. The method uses username and password to authenticate and connect to Splunk. But when I will publish my app, I don't want to ask users to give their credentials in order to connect to Splunk.

Also, I have already used the the authentication method which uses token, but to get a token, I have to give the credentials at initial start.

Is there any way we can connect and post data without specifying credentials?

Thanks

There are various ways to connect and post data without users credentials. You can visit from Contact Arlo support to get the exact solution. You can also get the implementation details of your problem.

You're looking for the HTTP Event Collector (HEC): http://dev.splunk.com/view/event-collector/SP-CAAAE6M

You'll generate and revoke tokens centrally, no password needed on the app side.

Sure, the link I provided has a page for logging from Java.
