Is it possible for Splunk to do FAT/Thick client or desktop-based application synthetic transactions monitoring?

For ex: Capture availability, performance, page load KPIs for below scenario and perform tests against these KPIs/recorded script.

user logs into his/her laptop -->access an application by clicking a GUI client-->performs some transactions --> close the GUI client.

Hi @SplunkGuru001,

There is a paid-for product that integrates with Splunk and can do thick client synthetic monitoring called 2 Steps.

You can set up monitoring to:

  1. Log into a desktop via RDP or Citrix
  2. Open an application
  3. Use the app - e.g. search, enter text, login (including 2 factor authentication)
  4. Close the app
  5. log out

For each step you can see performance and availability stats, along with screenshots on error, and even videos of the process - all from within Splunk.

It's all integrated into a Splunk app on Splunkbase: https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/4546

Might be worth checking out.

Cheers,
Daniel
