Am i guaranteed to get Splunk software updates if i have a perpetual license

am i guaranteed to get splunk software updates if i have a perpetual license? (bought several years ago)

i don't quite follow, but i heard there were some changes in splunk's business model or smth

Nothing in life is guaranteed except death and taxes.
IIRC, you must pay the annual maintenance fee to get software updates.

Perpetual licenses don't include maintenance/support. There's a separate fee for that.

but no updates - that's kinda unfair...

It's how Splunk stays in business, although I don't know how they stop you from downloading the latest software from the web site.
