Is Extreme Search still available?

I no longer see Extreme Search on Splunkbase.

Is it part of Splunk or Enterprise Security? (We are a few version behind)
Or has it been removed/deprecated or possible under another name?

It is installed as part of Enterprise Security now, I dont think it is available independently.

There are many bug fixes in ES so I do recommend getting caught up to v5

that's correct -- there is an app on Splunkbase that helps you use XS, called Extreme Search Visualization: https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2855/

But that app is supportive of XS not a copy of it. You still have to have ES and XS updates are inside the ES update installer.
