splunk winevents forwarding to splunkcloud

Hi,
We are sending directly to SplunkCloud but recent changes we wanted to send to heavy forwarder and then send to SplunkCloud. Followed this official document but can we sent to windows hf and sent to SplunkCloud, does this works for the current changes or it should be directly reaching to SplunkCloud.

Yes, you can use a heavy forwarder (HF) to relay Windows events to Splunk Cloud. Be aware that intermediate forwarders (HF/UF between indexers and other forwarders) can be a bottleneck and degrade performance. OTOH, it's far easier to manage props and transforms on a HF than it is on your Splunk Cloud indexers.

It shouldn't matter which platform the HF is on.
You Unix HF may have excess inputs enabled. Please describe the "garbage data".
