Splunk Cloud Platform

The event logs are not showing up on the SplunkCloud console with forwarder?

I can't set up the sending of Windows logs with Splunk Event Log. No information appears on the console SlunkCloud, either the logs or just the computer name. I followed the procedure by installing and configuring Universal Forwarder, and installing the add-on on the console, but it doesn't seem to work. Do you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem ?

Forwarder's log will tell you what's going on (c:\program files\splunkuniversalforwarder\var\log\splunk\splunkd.log).

*Exactly* what steps did you follow to send Windows logs?  Did you enable any inputs on the UF?  If so, which ones?  Did you restart the UF after enabling the inputs?  Which add-on did you install and where did you install it ("console" does explain it).

Did you install the Universal Forwarder app from your Splunk Cloud search head on your UF?

Hello,
thank you for your quick answer,

I have used this documentation: https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/SplunkCloud/9.0.2209/Data/Monitorwindowseventlogdata
https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/MSApp/2.0.4/MSInfra/InstallauniversalforwarderoneachWindowshos...
I then configured the conf file inputs.conf :

# Windows platform specific input processor.
[WinEventLog://Application]
disabled = 0
[WinEventLog://Security]
disabled = 0
[WinEventLog://System]
disabled = 0

Then I restarted the service

I installed Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Windows from the SplunkCloud platform where we make requests (I call it the console)

What do you mean by, "Have you installed the Universal Forwarder application from your Splunk Cloud search head on your UF?"

Thank you

Thank you for answering my questions.

The inputs.conf file must be installed on all UFs.  It is recommended that each stanza also contain an index= setting.  Restart each UF after installing the file.

On your console, you will find an app called "Universal Forwarder".  Go to that app and click on the green button to download an app that must be installed on all of your UFs.  This app contains outputs.conf and certificates that allow the UF to send data to Splunk Cloud.
