Which kind of custom use cases are you looking for? 

If you are in need of custom use cases for security monitoring, I would suggest taking a look in some of the correlation searches / saved searches in WEB or Application categories provided by the apps Security Essentials and ES Content Update. I guess some of the use cases in these apps can be adapted to the WAF logs.
