Derived Metric using a metric with a parenthesis: cpu|CPU (Cores) Logical

I am trying to create a derived metric using |Custom Metrics|Linux Monitor|cpu|CPU (Cores) Logical.   I keep getting the error:

WARN NumberUtils-Linux Monitor - Unable to validate the value as a valid number
java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "Cores"

Anyone know how to use that metric in a derived metric?  I believe it is trying to use "Cores" as its own metric.  I tried using escape characters with no luck.

Hi @Wade.Morris,

Thanks for letting me know. If I find anything else, I'll share it your way. If you happen to find a solution, please come back and share it here as well.

Yeah, I have already read those and nothing in there helps for this particular issue.

Hi @Wade.Morris,

I searched the Community Knowledge Base for "Derived Metric" and found these three articles. Please take a look and see if any of them help.
