The Value Insights (Beta) release is the first step in that journey. This phase focuses on visibility into usage and use case coverage, offering executive-ready views that show how teams are engaging with Splunk and how that activity supports key business goals. Available now in the Cloud Monitoring Console (CMC) with CMC 3.48.0 release, this new executive-ready view tells the story behind your organization’s Splunk usage: who is using it, how deeply they are engaged, and what business outcomes are being unlocked.

Value Insights (Beta) surfaces key usage, adoption, and use case implementation metrics so leaders can track momentum and alignment to their business priorities across their organization. It’s focused on helping you understand the business impact you are driving with Splunk. With Value Insights (beta) you can see the business outcomes your organization unlocked at a glance.
Here’s what Value Insights (beta) highlights:
Strategic impact: showing the critical Security, Observability, and other key business problems your organization is solving with Splunk, showcasing alignment with your strategic priorities through metrics like Top Use Case Domain and Use Case Categories.
Adoption momentum: provides information that helps you understand the activities that users are performing with Splunk, providing insights into user satisfaction and growth potential. Metrics like Daily Active Users, AI users and Search Activity provide clear indicators of your organizational effectiveness.
Engagement: Provides details on how your teams are using apps, dashboards to drive outcomes. These serve as strong indicators to understand the utilization of your indexed data and how its being used in solving strategic business problems.
Who is it for
While most CMC dashboards help Splunk Cloud Admins monitor deployment performance, Value Insights (Beta) empowers executive decision-makers to understand business value. However, since Splunk Admins are often the ones responsible for gathering and presenting this kind of value data to leadership, we built Value Insights within CMC, an app they already use. This way, admins can easily access the dashboard, pull the right data, and export executive-ready reports as PDFs, bringing critical insights to leadership in an executive format that’s ready to share. These insights turn technical data into a business narrative that executives can act on.
Take a closer look at the Value Insights (beta) Dashboard
The Value Insights dashboard will be a dedicated space within the Cloud Monitoring Console (CMC), which is pre-installed on all Splunk Cloud deployments and is available to users with sc_admin access.
Personalized Insights: While the default view offers key summarized insights, you can personalize your dashboard by adding or removing metrics to focus on what's most important for your organization.
Drill-Down Analytics: For each summarized insight, we provide drill-down analytics so you can further understand trends. For example, you can compare use case categories over time to see how they've evolved and confirm alignment with your strategic business problems.
Executive-Ready Reporting: To make sharing these insights effortless, we've included a single-click "Export to PDF" functionality, allowing you to quickly download and share a report with executives in your organization.
