Hi all,

I m new to splunk. I m trying the splunk free license taking in some of my raspberry pi data. When I m trying to use another system to remotely access to the splunk server system. i.e. via http://192.168.1.50 (I changed the default port to 80), I m always logged in. I mean I do not need to key in any login credential, password.

I did not change anything on the server.conf on the trustedIP. I had only added the allowRemoteLogin = Always.

I need the login page, anyone can advise?

Hi quahfamili,

as you can read on the docs page of Splunk Free http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/Admin/MoreaboutSplunkFree?r=searchtip#What_is_inc...

There is no authentication or user and role management when using Splunk Free. This means:
There is no login. The command line or browser can access and control all aspects of Splunk Free with no user/password prompt.
All accesses are treated as equivalent to the admin user. There is only one role (admin), and it is not configurable. You cannot add more roles or create user accounts.

Hope this helps ...

cheers, MuS
