Why Splunk web login is returning HTTP 500 internal server error when splunkd fails to start up?

Splunk web is returning HTTP 500 internal server error after entering login credential as splunkd fails to start up.
We have checked the server.conf:[httpServer] :disableDefaultPort is set to false.

Splunkd fails to start due to parsing error of the web.conf:tools.sessions.timeout attribute:
xx-xx-xxxx xx:xx:xx.xxx +xxxx ERROR UiHttpListener - Can't parse tools.sessions.timeout value "240s", using default of 60
Note: Only integer value is allowed.

Splunkd is started and the HTTP 500 internal server error is resolved after correcting the timeout value to the default value of 60 in web.conf.
tools.sessions.timeout = 60

Tried updating the timeout to 300 in web.conf still not working
