SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character with Sampledata.zip from tutorial

I'm following the tutorial and getting the following error when importing Sampledata.zip from http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/User/Adddatatutorial

Your entry was not saved. The following error was reported: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character.

Any ideas?

Hey even i am getting same error . on one machine when i did , it went fine but now when i am doing it , i am getting this error ,
