Hi all

I want to subscribe on Splunk updates via email.

I found https://www.splunk.com/en_us/blog/subscribe.html page, but I am not sure what option should I choose to get just the listings of updates. Thank you!

so, the version 7.0.0 released Sep 2017, 8.0.0 got released Oct 2019,.. if they are following one year cycle, then, version 9.0.0 should have released by now. 

so, there are no actual release cycle. only approximate release cycle they follow.

one point to note - around the Splunk Conf time (Oct month of every year), they may release a minor or major release.

actually, we no need to worry much about the version release dates. when major version released, there will be blogs from Splunk.

Hi @bosseres .. "Splunk Enterprise updates" meaning, when a new post on "Splunk Enterprise" , you want an email notification 

or

when a new Splunk Enterprise version is released, you want to get email notification?

Yes, I meant email notification, when new Splunk Enterprise version is released

when you login to Splunk, you may get a notification/message saying that "a new Splunk version is available".. from that, you can understand a new version available.. 

from a Splunk employee - 

There is no hard set schedule, however we are trying to maintain the following frequency for our release cycle: - The Major releases are scheduled on a 12-18 months timeframe. - The Minor releases are scheduled every 6-8 months. - The Maintenance releases are usually available on a 6-8 weeks timeframe.

The Maintenance releases are available to provide bug fixes and we do not have any schedule for Patches or Hotfix. In case, we would have to deliver a patch, we will make sure to notify our Users accordingly.
