Splunk Simple XML : Post-process job export

I'm getting below message while trying to export results . I'm using SimpleXML for the results

you cannot export results for post-process jobs

I saw a similar query but for SideViewUtils

Is there anyway, this issue can be solved in SimpleXML ?

This is still an issue today, except now the icon is grayed out instead of returning an error.

Could this function, even if it has to run the search again? Perhaps a dashboard option to enable it, which is off by default? Please?

The only current solution to this that I found is to click "Open in Search" icon, force it to re-run search and then results will be exportable.
