Is splunk restart required?

After changing one of the parmeter say "action.email.maxresults" for one of the savedsearch from GUI in advance edit, does splunk restart required?
The parmeter is changed and reflected in searcheads but not working. Here, I have not restarted splunk. So, does it required restart ?

No it does not require a restart.

You can get around many restarts by going to the debug/refresh endpoint http(s)://yourSplunk:port/debug/refresh

Go there and hit the refresh button and wait. You’ll see all the items it reloads.

If this isn’t working for you, perhaps the limitation is in the search itself. There are many commands that have limits, etc.
