The Observability team is planning to release its first Role Based Access Control (RBAC) release soon. This release will deliver additional pre-defined roles out-the-box including Admin, Power, Read-only and Usage roles. In preparation of that release, we plan to rename the existing “User” role to “Power” role. There is no change in the capabilities or permissions of the role or existing assignments of user roles but rather this is simply a role name change. Customer will start seeing new Power role instead of user role in the User page.

Customers should expect the renaming of the user role sometime at the end of the month January 2024, before RBAC pre-defined roles is released.

Correction: Customer should expect renaming of user role couple of days after RBAC pre-defined roles is released in early February 2024.
