What UNIX OS and which filesystem do you recommend...

Hi,

Both XFS and EXT4 filesystems are supported, the most of Linux distributtions are supported.. but I wonder if any of you did practical test and compared performance.

I saw benchmarks for common tools and diffrent usage for many common tasks (compilation, SQL benchmark etc), but was Splunk tested in such way?
