Monitoring Splunk

Splunkd daemon is not responding: (Error connecting to /services/licenser/localslave/license: (The read operation timed out,),)

Hi All,

when i am adding a new sever (searched) to the license- master as a slave it is throwing following error "Splunkd daemon is not responding: (Error connecting to /services/licenser/localslave/license: (The read operation timed out,),)"

can anyone please help me to resolve this issue .

I resolved a similar issue by opening up port 8089

No , it is splunk enterprise License and i am adding a new prod-server

Is port 8089 is open bidirectional between license server and license slave?

Make sure that the "pass4SymmKey" under [general] stanza of server.conf for license master and slaves is the same.
