Monitoring Splunk

No data in License Usage report

We are having an issue viewing the License Usage report in Splunk 6.0 - no data is being displayed when trying to view the "License Usage" graphs when going to Activity -> System Activity -> License usage.

We have a dedicated search head who is forwarding all local data to a dedicated indexer. We believe this is working correctly as we can see other data which would be typically stored in the _internal index through the search head UI, but for some reason the license usage reports are not working.

Even stranger, the license usage "Previous 30 day" tab does in fact work properly - this is only related to the current day license report accessed from splunk-host/en-US/manager/search/licenseusage

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As stated in our docs:

Access LURV on your deployment's license master. (If your deployment is only one instance, your instance is its own license master.)

The "Today's license usage" tab queries the REST API of the local instance in order to determine the license usage of the current day. As such, it will only work when loaded from the License Master itself.

What is the result when you look at the same view on your license master? Is your license master running 6 as well?
