Why am I getting this error when I try to start splunk on Ubuntu VM?

Hi,

I am getting this error "web interface does not seem to be available!" when I try to start splunk on Hyper-V Ubuntu VM

Can anyone help?

Try 

/opt/splunk/bin/splunk start --accept-license

Are there any errors / warnings in $SPLUNK_HOME/var/log/splunkd.log ?

Hi all,

This is resolved after i used this command to start splunk instead.

/opt/splunk/bin/splunk start

@XavierTang - Yes, sometimes it happens that splunkd starts but not web. I would just rerun the start command in those situations.
