Splunk_U
Path Finder

I am asking this questuion just based on my curosity. We used to install splunk by the user name root, now will create any problem if I create a username called abc and do login with the user abc and install splunk?

Nope, no problems. If you change the user of an existing Splunk install, you'll have to change ownership (chown, or the Windows equivalent) of all of the files. You'll also want to add the --user flag to the splunk enable boot start command.
