How can I use the purchase licensing?

Hi Experts,

I have installed my Splunk Enterprise as well as indexer in one server and my universal forwarders are installed in 7 different servers.
I have checked the splunk documents for purchase licensing and I am a little bit confused that how can I use the purchase licensing?

So can anyone tell me the exact solution that how can I use my Splunk purchase licensing?

What I have understand is you have one search head and one indexer right? If you want to used your license then upload it on indexer where you data will be stored. Refer below doc for license upload:

My search head and indexer is installed in a single server.
But i have 7 different servers where I have installed my universal forwarders to send the data in a single indexer.

So, my question is where should I need to update my purchase license.
My splunk is in free licensing mode.

ok. Then install server where splunk enterprise is. I mean (My search head and indexer is installed in a single server.) this server.

Also select enterprise license when uploading i.e change from free to enterprise.
