Firewall Rules: Does license slave need to have an open TCP connection to management port on license master Default 8089?

I wanted to confirm that a license slave has to have an open TCP connection to the management port on the license master Default 8089, or what ever the management port is set to. Is there any other needed traffic? I want to confirm before the arduous process to get a fw change.
