Does DB Connect use its own Java?

We are trying to figure out which Java installations we need to upgrade, and one thing I'm not clear about is whether DB Connect uses its own bundled Java or the system's Java installation.

DBX uses a system-level Java installation.  You can find it at Configuration->Settings in DB Connect.

Thank you @richgalloway, one more question, which JREs are supported by DB Connect? We are using the Java Oracle one and would like to move to Azul OpenJDK. Is Azul supported?

Azul is supported.  See https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/3.12.2/DeployDBX/Prerequisites#Java_Runtime_Environment_.2...
