how to set field type as string when upload local csv file

when upload local csv file, i can't found a way to set field from number type to string type. By default splunk set the field with numer type which i don't want. So, i wonder to know how to set field type as string when upload csv file.

Splunk generally doesn't care about data type. A sequence of digits will be treated as a number by default and as a string when necessary. You can always force conversion to a string with tostring().
