Hello,

im facing a problem on my Dbx connect : 

Cannot communicate with task server, please check your settings.
 
DBX Server is not available, please make sure it is started and listening on 9998 port or consult documentation for details.
 
did you have a idea ?
 
We use Splunk Enterprise 9.2.1

Hi @hv64 

Can you please confirm if this previously worked, or if this is a new install? I see you arent running on the latest version - it might be worth upgrading to 4.0.0 unless there are any issues you are aware of which could prevent this, this could rule out any previous bugs etc.

There are a huge range of things which could be wrong based on this error, the first thing I would try is restarting splunkd incase this resolves it, have you already tried this?

I'd also recommend checking out https://splunk.my.site.com/customer/s/article/Splunk-App-for-DB-Connect-Cannot-Communicate-With-Task... which has a number of troubleshooting steps, rather than listing them all here!

ok my license was expired. So probably the problem

Has it ever worked and now suddenly stopped? (If so - what changes were made to your environment?)

Or is it a new installation? (How exactly did you install it?)

Do the logs show any related errors?

I need to disagree to use any x.0.0 versions. Especially when dbx’s 4.0.0 contains totally new features (real HA), it’s more than probably that there will be less or more other annoying issues with it!
