Hi Everyone,

I spinned up a new windows instance in aws, then i installed splunk application in that server. Then i installed universal forwarder in my laptop and assigned hostname or ip address of my windows server(AWS cloud which i installed) . Then i stopped the windows server and started again because of billing. Then the ip address was changed. so my question is like every time i need to change the ip address in the universal forwarder after stopping and starting of the windows server. It is very hectic every time to change the ip address in the universal forwarder.

Thanks,
Rajesh

This is not really a Splunk question, but you could assign an Elastic IP to the ec2 host, which will prevent it changing on restart.

If my comment helps, please give it a thumbs up!
