Getting Data In

Why is my deployment server downloading so much after upgrading from Splunk 6.1.1 to 6.1.9??

Hi,

I upgraded my deployment server from 6.1.1 to 6.1.9, and it seems now that all of my forwarders are downloading their configs. Why is it doing that, and is there anyway to stop it?

Off the top of my head, I think the way a deployment server works is by calculating a hash of the apps. This hash is recalculated on startup or when a reload command is run on the CLI.

I'm sure you are already aware of that, but I mention it because I'm thinking that the version number (or secret key) is used in calculating the hash - and as such, all of the apps are looking like they have a new hash and therefore need to be downloaded.

Let us know if this caused any problems other than just being chatty.
