Why doesn't my SplunkCloud tenant's HEC work?

i tried with :

https://prd-p-xxxxxx.splunkcloud.com:8088/services/collector/event

and also with :

https://http-inputs.prd-p-xxxxxx.splunkcloud.com:8088/services/collector/event

 

in both cases, the connation fails 

do I need to enable anything else in the SplunkCloud Server side ?

The correct URL depends on if you have a trial account or where your account resides (AWS or GCP).  

For trial accounts, the first URL should work.

In GCP, use the second URL, but change the port to 443.

In AWS, use 

https://http-inputs-prd-p-xxxxxx.splunkcloud.com:443/services/collector/event
