What source type do I enter while opening up a port to my License server from another Splunk Server.

Communication between the License Manager and other Splunk instances does not use a sourcetype.

How exactly are you trying to connect the Splunk server to the LM?  It should be a matter of going to Settings->Licensing in the license client and clicking the button at the top.  No sourcetype needed.
