Universal Forwarder for AIX RPM

Has anyone built their own Universal Forwarder for AIX rpm?

Managing tar balls is a but problematic with a large number of systems. Leveraging rpms with configuration management tools such as chef, puppet, or cfengine tends to make it a bit easier for distribution, patching, upgrading, and reporting.

if anyone has built their own aix rpm, would you mind sharing suggestions, how you went about building it (generating a spec file), any gotchas, etc?

Thanks!

RPMs, no. But I did previously have a script that could take a splunk tarball and make an AIX LPP (installp package) out of it. I will see if I can find it in the next couple of days and post a link.
