Unable to query some mainframe syslog messages

We send our mainframe SYSLOG to Splunk via Ironstream. We can then easily and very quickly query message numbers, such as IEF403I with the following query:

index=sdflog MSGNUM=IEF403I |dedup _time | table DATETIME MSGTXT

But that same query does not find some messages such as IEC070I. Obviously there is something in the characteristics of that message that prevent the regular query from locating that message, but I'm unable to determine what it is. Any help would be appreciated.

IronStream is a vended product. (You're lucky to have access to it! I tried to get it at my last job and was quickly shut down. Anyway, I digress...)

Have you checked with the vendor to see whether they have any recommendations?
