SplunkD Service randomly stopping on Windows Server 2012

My SplunkD Service randomly stops on my Windows Server 2012 making it so that I cannot reach the web interface. I have to restart the service on the Windows server in order to make it reachable again. Is there something I should look at to fix this issu

Hi @mdplourde ,

The Splunk 8.1.0.1 version will not support the windows server 2012. Go for Splunk 7.3.9 version you will not face this issue.

Before installing the Splunk package check the OS compatibility.

Is there a step by step instruction to downgrade Splunk?

Hi @mdplourde ,

Make sure you have installed the correct version which supports your current OS. 

Only till 7.3.9 splunk version will support windows server 2012.

We are running Splunk 8.1.0.1. Is this the same for Windows Server 2012 R2? I forgot to add that we have R2.
