Getting Data In

Is there a filesize limit for data inputs?

I have a data file of 250mb.
Each time I try and input the data via add data, file or directory, I get object error.
I can preview the first 1.9mb of the file successfully.
I have inputed similar file formats that were smaller sizes before without any issues.
I suspect it maybe the filesize that is causing the problem.
Is there a filesize limit for data inputs? If so what is the filesize limit?
Can the limit be increased to 250mb? If so how?
