How to ingest Application prometheus metrics onto Splunk Enterprise through UF?

Hello Team,

I would like to get clarified whether there is a possibility of ingesting application prometheus metrics onto Splunk Enterprise through Universal or Heavy Forwarders.

Currently we are able to ingest Prometheus metrics through Splunk Otel Collector & Splunk HEC onto splunk Enterprise.

Is there a similar solution using Forwarders?

Kindly please suggest. Additionally can we also confirm if Splunk Otel Collector + Fluentd agent is available only as open-source agents?

You could use Prometheus Metrics for Splunk | Splunkbase if you wann avoid using the OTel Collector.
