Do external REST API calls affect Splunk licensing?

I am trying to import data from an external website into my splunk instance using the 'curl' command in splunk search.

(eg: | curl url="_https://api.github.com/user" auth="basic, user, password" output=json).

Will this affect my splunk licensing costs?

Hi,

No, this will not affect your splunk licensing because you are importing data for search only. When you index the data in Splunk at that time license will calculate.
