Deleting eventtypes using REST api?

I'm using Splunk 4.2.3. Right now I have about 250 eventtypes I need to delete. I really don't want to do it via the webUI - is it possible through the REST api?

I think so...see the documentation for DELETE saved/eventtypes/{name}.
