Data collection using Universal Forwarder

We want to install a universal forwarder on one of our servers, and then use this installation to collect wmi data from the rest of our servers and forward everything to the main Splunk install. Can the universal forwarder handle that? If it can, where do I tell the UF which data to collect? Thank you.

Yes, the universal forwarder can do remote wmi polling:
