I know my users have admin privileges but no matter which login I use, even admin, I keep getting unauthorized or admin not found errors -

User does not exist: admin

This USED to work with no issue!

Check and make sure the admin USER really exists in Splunk. You can check your splunkd.log for any errors regarding authentication for admin. Ask your security team if they have made any changes to $splunk_home/etc/passwd specifically if they have renamed or deleted the admin account.

If the admin account is not there, curl will not return results.
