Can we send an HTTP request to a tcp port?

We opened a tcp connections and the client is sending an HTTP request. Is it "legal"?

We see within Splunk -

Also, the client doesn't receive an HTTP response from Splunk...

I think we are ok. We moved from a tcp connection to the HTTP Event Collector. We should be ok now.
