Splunk files location

Hi ,
I have installed splunk in my linux box at my home folder,where do my splunk files get stored.can we give separate location for splunk files ?. I'm new to Splunk pls guide.thanks

Are you looking for the underlying data stored in Splunk or configuration data? Take a look at this for your existing indexes, you have flexibility to move storage.
