Splunk DB Connect and Splunk License

We are planning to install this app which is used by the power users; however, we are aware of our Splunk license if the power users configure the DB connect to output the data from a connected database into a Splunk index. Is it possible to disable this feature to avoid the power users mis-configure the database?

I'm pretty sure users with both the power and dbx_user roles don't have the capability to add new inputs out of the box.
